The Christian Education Ministry is dedicated to educating, equipping, and empowering individuals to further advance God’s kingdom.  It educates children, youth, and adults about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, equips them to know and experience God through Jesus Christ, and empowers them to claim and live God’s promises and to grow and serve as Christian Disciples.

Qualifications for Members and Teachers

  • Must be a Christian with a knowledge of the Bible.
  • Must know and be in agreement with the Baptist Doctrine and willing to teach it.
  • Must be a supporter in regular attendance with a clear commitment to the church and its leadership.
  • Must have and maintain a clean criminal record with no history of child abuse, spousal abuse, molestation, illegal drug use, or any felony.
  • Must have training in teaching and relating to the age group they are teaching, or be willing to be trained.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must complete the Confidentiality Agreement (Appendix 1).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To coordinate and implement short and long-term planning of a comprehensive and holistic ministry.
  • To keep the congregation abreast of available Christian educational opportunities.
  • To become aware of and connect with organizations, persons, and resources to meet various Christian educational needs.
  • To organize and implement a plan for a community outreach ministry.
  • To organize and conduct seminars and workshops to foster Christian learning.

Membership

The Deacon Ministry shall select the members for this ministry.  All members must be a member of Round Top in good standing.  There will be a maximum of seven (7) persons in this Ministry, each serving one (1) term of three (3) years.  At the end of each member’s term, the Deacon Ministry will re-evaluate as to whether a member will serve a second (2nd) term.  No member shall be allowed to serve more than two (2) consecutive terms.
