Message From Our Pastor

May 31, 2020

Grace and Peace to you all!

First, let me say, “Congratulations to the Class of 2020!  We are all so proud of you!  My prayer is that the Lord continue to bless and keep you as you embark upon your next journey in life.”

In this moment, life may seem to be a bit challenging, but be assured that God is still on the throne!  As we endure this pandemic, keep in mind that this is not the time to stop practicing social distancing, nor is it the time to become lax in our health care.  Let’s not become complacent and think that this pandemic is over, because it is not.  We must still adhere to the guidelines given to us by the health officials.  While we are doing that, remember to have faith and trust in the Lord that he will bring us through because the Bible says that, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”  While trusting and having faith is not a promise that things will be easy; it does make things possible.  Luke 1:37 says, “For with God nothing will be impossible.”  As you stay home and stay healthy, don’t allow negativity to overtake your peace of mind.  Allow your trust and faith in God to keep you in perfect peace.  You may feel shut-up in your house, shut-down from your job, or shut-out from your church, but remember that you are never shut-away from God.

If your life is in need of prioritizing; there is no better time than now.  There are things that we have the perfect opportunity to do.  Work on relationships that need repairing, strengthen your relationship with God, increase your time spent not only reading, but also studying the word, and continue to stay prayerful for all who are affected by this pandemic; especially those who are serving on the frontlines (doctors, nurses, all medical/hospital support staff, first responders, etc.), our leaders at all levels, our sick and shut-in, bereaved, incarcerated, homeless, abandoned, lonely, alone, abused, unsaved, elderly, the church family, our pastor, and this entire world.  If you need extra motivation; I have good news!  I invite you to join our mid-day Bible Study each Tuesday at noon, as well as our Morning Prayer each Wednesday at 9 am; both via teleconference call from wherever you may be.

I am continuing to trust God and believe that there are good things to come.  Just seeing the sun rise in the morning reminds me of the new mercies that God supplies to us with each day.  I am thankful to Him, as we all should be, because we are so truly blessed.  I know that God will allow for something good to come out of this pandemic.  Let’s live the type of Christian life that will give praise and honor to God.  Be blessed, not stressed!

In His Service,

Pastor Fleming O. McClinton
